Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are as a result of problems with the jaw and surrounding facial muscles through which chewing and moving the jaw is controlled. Exact cause for TMD is not known. Dislocation of the soft cushion, Presence of rheumatoid arthritis in the TMJ is some other causes of the disease.
