Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Top Open Access Journals

Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a common sequela in acne patients, more so in those with skin of color.  PIH in acne is also called acne hyperpigmented macule (AHM).  AHM's were noted in 65.3% of blacks, 52.7% of Hispanics, and 47.4% of Asians in a study of acne in the USA. Such data are not available for acne patients in Indians but PIH is believed to be equally common in our patients
