Although one of the objectives of the Journal of Physiological Anthropology is to evaluate physiological adaptations to modern living environments, however the other objective is to publish the researches from different scientific fields that are concerned with environmental impact on human life. We are very much concerned with the environmental changes, mainly contributed by human activities, that are affecting us in various ways.
One of the effects of environmental changes affecting human life is emergence of new infectious diseases, and re-immergence of infections which were under control before. Therefore, the editorial board has decided to publish a special issue to publish selected research and review articles dealing with infectious diseases those were directly or indirectly contributed by environmental changes, including but not limited to rapid urbanization, deforestation, and compromising water bodies and wetlands. We believe such collection will provide us with a new perspective on this interdisciplinary but very pressing issue.
