The Journal of Physiology publishes original Research Papers in all areas of physiology and pathophysiology illustrating new physiological principles or mechanisms. Papers on work at the molecular level, cell membrane, single cells, tissues, or organs and on systems physiology are all encouraged. We are particularly keen to publish papers that have a clinical or translational focus, to help further our understanding of the role physiology plays in health and disease. open-access journals in physiology are scholarly journals that are available online to the reader "without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. There are two parallel “roads” towards open access: Open Access articles and self-archiving. Physiology is the study of normal function within living creatures. Merrian-Webster defines physiology as a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter (such as organs, tissues, or cells) and of the physical and chemical phenomena involved.”
