The need to have mastery over electronic media is inevitable today if one wants to excell in digital productions whether that be film, sound, multimedia or new media technologies. Yes! that is what we train the students for here at DCJ. Masters in Electronic Media is designed to offer full-fledged training to students in journalism to help them pursue their goals both in the fields of academics and media industry. The course has been designed with the help of industry professionals and alumni. The internal staff as well as professionals from the industry will be conducting the lectures. The Department has a full-fledged computer lab and can impart industry oriented training for the course. This programme that combines both theory and practical will help students learn and practice the important aspects of Electronic Media. Students are introduced to Communication Theory, Media Economics, Writing skills, Reporting and Editing, Introduction to Film Studies, Visual Communication, Media Laws, Computation skills, Audio and Video productions, Multimedia productions, and New Media Technologies. The learning will also involve practical in each subject so as to help students gain practical experience in the field of Electronic Media. The course will culminate with Documentary Film making which involves continuous evaluation of project work of the learners.
