It is a specialty of dentistry and discipline of radiology concerned with the production and interpretation of radiographic images used in the diagnosis and management of diseases, disorders and conditions of the face and jaws.
A maxillofacial radiologist is a dentist who interprets radiographic images for conditions affecting the head, neck, face and jaws.
