Marine Biology-Journals

Marine biology is that the study of marine organisms, their behaviors and interactions with the environment. Marine biologists study biological oceanography and therefore the associated fields of chemical, physical, and geological oceanography to know marine organisms.

Marine biology may be a very broad area, so most researchers select a specific area of interest and concentrate on it. Specializations are often supported a specific species, group, behavior, technique, or ecosystem.

Molecular biology may be a related area of specialization in marine biology. Researchers apply molecular techniques to several environments starting from coastal marshes to the deep sea and to varied organisms like viruses, plants, and fish.

The Marine Science Institute is an internationally recognized center for the study of marshes, bays, the Gulf of Mexico, and therefore the world’s oceans. The Institute is devoted to innovative research, university education, and public outreach. Undergraduate courses offer students practical experience in both the laboratory & field. The unique location of the Institute provides students and researchers immediate access to a spread of marine habitats.
