The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interdependent computing devices, mechanical and digital machines with unique identifiers (UIDs).  The Internet of Things is an emerging topic of technical, social, and economic significance. Consumer products, durable goods, cars and trucks, industrial and utility components, sensors, and other everyday objects are being combined with Internet connectivity and powerful data analytic capabilities that promise to transform the way we work, live, and play.

The definition of the Internet of Things has evolved to include several technologies, real-time analysis, machine learning, product sensors and integrated systems.  The traditional fields of embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, control systems, automation (including home and building automation), and others, all enable the internal items. In the consumer market, IoT technology is one of the most synonymous products related to the concept of "smart home", covering devices and accessories (such as lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras and D ').

IoT devices are part of the broader concept of home automation, which can include lighting, heating and air conditioning, media and security systems. Long-term benefits could include energy savings by automatically ensuring that lights and electronics are turned off. The key to a smart home is to help people with disabilities and the elderly. These residential systems use the assistive technology to adapt the specific handicaps of the owner. IoT can help integrate communications, control and information processing into various transportation systems. The application of IoT extends to all aspects of transport.
