International accounting is a specialty within the entire discipline that is focused on using specific accounting standards that are as relevant in the US as they are when you are balancing the books of a company overseas. International Financial Reporting Standards, commonly called IFRS, are accounting standards issued by the IFRS Foundation and the International Accounting Standards Board. he goal then, as it remains today, was to make it easier to compare businesses around the world, increase transparency and trust in financial reporting, and foster global trade and investment.
