Fertility medicine include various fertility drugs that boost fertility or help couples who cannot conceive and become pregnant by natural process. For millions of women all over the world who cannot conceive or having ovulation problems, fertility drugs are the primary choice that promotes ovulation. Common types of fertility drugs work either by stimulating the brain hormones that trigger development and release of egg from ovaries or directly stimulate ovaries to produce egg. The commonly prescribed fertility drugs are Clomiphene (Clomid or Serophene) and Injectable Hormones like Gonadotropins. Some women are required to use these drugs while undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) or assisted reproductive technology (ART) methods, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). For example, During IVF, women are advised to take fertility medications which help to prepare the lining of the uterus for pregnancy and to prevent the ovaries from early releasing of eggs.
