The Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) is a peer-reviewed and Open Access journal for the generation and dissemination of evidence from a wide range of disciplines: basic and biomedical sciences; behavioural sciences; epidemiology; clinical sciences; health economics and health policy; operations research and implementation sciences; and social sciences and humanities. Submission of HIV research carried out in low- and middle-income countries is strongly encouraged.

As per available reports about 100 journals, 162 conferences, 30 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to HIV AIDS Medicine and about 366282 articles are being published on the current trends in HIV AIDS Medicine. In terms of research annually; USA, India, Japan, Brazil and Canada are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to HIV AIDS Medicine are being carried out. Although the use of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) hampers HIV-1 replication, it is not yet a cure. The main obstacle to HAART-mediated HIV eradication is the latent reservoir of virally infected cells, which is the source of fast viral rebound in patients that stopped therapy.
