Hematology,is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related toThe Department of Hematology serves as a center for diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment for many hematologic diseases such as malignant blood diseases like leukemia, lymphoma and common myeloma; clotting diseases and hereditary blood diseases; Hodgkin's Disease and Thrombocytopenia blood.  One of the most common hematology tests is the complete blood count, or CBC. This test is often conducted during a routine exam and can detect anemia, clotting problems, blood cancers, immune system disorders and infections.The diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the blood and bone marrow as well as of the immunologic, hemostatic (blood clotting) are made reliable and convinient by using hematological studies.Hematology is the study of blood and blood-forming organs, including the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the blood.These tests can evaluate a variety of blood conditions including infection, anemia, inflammation, hemophilia, blood-clotting disorders, leukemia and the body’s response to chemotherapy treatments.
