Corresponding to the strong westerly winds and the WPSH, there are four rainfall centers in GPCP: northern India, the BOB–Indochina peninsula, SCS, WNP, and the monsoon rainfall band which is called Meiyu in China, Baiu in Japan, or Changma in Korea (along 30°N). Meiyu is a climatic phenomenon closely related to the East Asian summer monsoon.
