Food is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. It is the ultimate source of energy for every organism.And any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth, etc. Hunting and gathering, pastoralism, and the development of agriculture are the primary means by which humans have adapted to their environments to feed themselves. Consumption of energy-dense, nutrient-poor foods/beverages can increase intake of added sugars. Highest ranked food sources of carbohydrate were soft drinks/soda (13.9%), yeast breads/rolls (10.0%), and cake/cookies/quick bread/pastry/pie (8.3%) among adults 19–50 y; and yeast breads/rolls (12.9%).Calories, also known as kilocalories and food calories, are the units of measurement for dietary energy. Balancing the calories you consume with the calories you expend, or burn, lets you maintain your weight. You can lose weight if you expend more calories than you consume.  Protein can be a source of dietary energy if adequate calories are not consumed or if protein is consumed in excess beyond muscle and tissue needs. Food is necessity od human survival and for all other organisms in this world.
