Cell signaling is a process through which living cells interact with the cellular environment and neighbouring cells. Cells contain Glycoproteins or Glycolipids as receptors on their plasma membrane which detects the signals. When a complementary ligand (signaling molecule) comes and binds to the receptor, it initiates a chain of reactions within the cell, ultimately leading to a response.
