Biomass Technology Development

Combustion systems for burning biomass vary from small stoves to multi-megawatt combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Combustion is best suited to biofuels with low moisture content, because it uses some of the energy to evaporate the water. Biomass is referred as organic matters derived from plants, animals, forestry and agriculture residues, and organic compounds of municipal and industrial wastes. Biomass technologies decompose organic matters to release their stored energy like biofuels and bioenergy. Burning Biomass is Bad for Health. When power plants use biomass as fuel especially biomass that comes from forests they will increase carbon emissions compared to coal and other fossil fuels for many years. The biomass industry also imperils a number of our most precious forests.
