Anemia basically means deficiency of iron and different types of anemia are Iron deficiency anemia. Anemia of inflammation, Aplastic anemia, Anemias associated with bone marrow disease, Hemolytic anemias, Sickle cell anemia. It  is defined as a low number of  Red blood corpuscles. In a routine blood test, anemia is reported as a low hemoglobin or hematocrit. Hemoglobin is the main protein in your red blood cells. It carries oxygen, and delivers it to all organs and tissues of body. Common causes are blood loss, reduced or impaired RBC production, and the destruction of RBCs. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia. Iron deficiency occurs when the rate of loss or use of iron is more than its rate of absorption and use. Dietary iron, vitamin B-12, and folate are important for RBC to mature in the body. Normally, 0.8 to 1 percent of the body’s red blood cells are replaced every day, and the average lifespan for red cells is 100 to 120 days. Any process that has a negative effect on this balance between red blood cell production and destruction can cause anemia. Though not common, chest pain can also be a symptom of anemia. There are many different types of anemia. Usually, it's mild and easily treated. Anemia is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
