Advancements In The Field Of Bioinformatics

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary scientific field of life sciences.Biological data can be described as molecular sequence information and “wet-bench” experimented content of genome and gene product analyses .As an interdisciplinary field of science, bioinformatics combines biology, computer science, information engineering, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret the biological data. Bioinformatics has been used for in silico analyses of biological queries using mathematical and statistical techniques. Bioinformatics involves the integration of computers, software tools, and databases in an effort to address biological questions. Bioinformatics approaches are often used for major initiatives that generate large data sets. Two important large-scale activities that use bioinformatics are genomics and proteomics. Newer NGS technologies such as those from PacBio, Nanopore, and 10x Genomics enable longer read sequences in excess of 10 kilob.ases (3). NGS also sequences RNA molecules by converting them to complementary DNA (cDNA) molecules using reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction.
