The University of Munster (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster) is a people universty located in western Germany rest on the small Münster-Aa River and the Dortmund-Ems Canal, northeast of Essen. The university has its beginnings in the Jesuiten-Kolleg Münster established in 1588. Present name was established by Emperor Wilhelm II in 1907. It is Germany’s third largest university.     
The University has 42,592 students among them 53% are women and 8% from abroad. The University providing education in more than 120 subjects in over 250 courses of study. The university introducing nearly 6000 graduates every year to the globe. The Uuniversity has 37, ooo students with a staff of 5 000 including 565 professors. Present university providing 15 departments in seven faculties, and has 400 relationships with universities and educational institutions around the world. There are a large number of doctoral degree courses at Münster University offering strong research in natural sciences, humanities, medicine, law and business administration. The University received the European Quality Seal by the national Agency for ERASMUS. The University Münster has signed the National Code of Conduct on Foreign Students at German Higher Education Institutions. The University Was twice awarded the German Foreign Office Prize for excellent support of international students (1999 and 2007).
