The University of Iceland is a public university which is one of the largest and oldest universities of the country Iceland. The University was established in the year 1911 by Alpingi which is located in the Reykjavík, Iceland. The main campus of the university lies in the centre of the city named Reykjavík which covers about 10 hectares. The oldest building was Gamli Garður which was built in the year 1934.
At present the university has 14000 students, containing five schools which are further divided into twenty five faculties.
