The University of Ibadan is the most prestigious and the one of the oldest universities of Nigerian universities. It is a public university established in the year 1948 which was located 8 kilometers away from the centre of the city Ibadan in Western Nigeria. At present there are about 34000 students enrolled having 11 faculties including college of medicine. The university is having sports and residential facilities for students and staff on campus. The former name of the University of Ibadan is University College Ibadan. The university is primarily a residential university with large magnificent halls for female and males. They can also accommodate post graduate students.
