University of Bucharest is one of the oldest university of Romania, founded in he year 1864 by Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza. The university intially has 3 Faculies i.e Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Letters. Lter on, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Physics and Faculty of Mathematics and
Computer Science were started. Due to the 1st World War the univeristy was closed between 1916-1918. By 2010 the university had 19 Faculties, with national and international students.

The university offers several study program from undergraduate and postgraduate degree to PhD, lifelong learning programmes and Erasmus programmes that are Europeans Union accredited.
