Founded in 1971, on the site of a hilltop farm that overlooked the Ozark Mountains, giving it the nickname "The Hill". University of Arkansas, popularly known as U of A is now the Nation’s 7th fastest-growing public university. Located in Fayetteville, in the United States, it is a co-educational research university.
It consists of six main campuses within the state¬ – University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, University of Arkansas at Monticello and University of Arkansas for medical sciences. It consists of around 350 buildings. Over 25,000 students are enrolled in the programs and the ratio of students to faculty is 19:1. It is known for its strong architecture, agriculture, business, communication disorders, creative writing, history,
law programs which are well-recognized at national level.
The main goal of the University is to promote environmental sustainability. It also has a
climate action plan including the goals of reducing
greenhouse gas emission. It has done a “campaign for 21st century” raising more than 1billion dollars which were used for significantly increasing the university’s endowment.
