The University of Pavia is one of the oldest universities in Europe and is located in Pavia, Italy. It was founded in the year of 1361 and has 9 faculties. It is mainly devoted to law studies, was then chosen as the main education centre for northern Italy. Today it has become one of the research university offering a wide variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching organized in 18 Departments and has study programmes at all levels: Bachelor’s degrees, Masters degrees, Research degrees. Research is carried out in various departments, clinics, centres, and laboratories in close association with public and private institutions, enterprises and companies. With over 23000 students, 1.318 foreign students, 968 teaching staffs it enjoys a strong tradition of international student and teacher from various parts of the countries. It provide 7 Master Degree courses in Molecular Biology and Genetics, International Business and Economics ,Economics, finance and international integration,Medicine and Surgery, World Politics and International Relations Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering.
University maintains International relationship with various organizations such as: CICOPS offers young people concrete opportunities to grow and contribute to the development of their countries. Erasmus is the European programme that enables students, professors and other staff from higher education institution or enterprises to spend an education, training and/or teaching period abroad in a higher education institution and/or in a private enterprise The Erasmus Mundus offers students, researchers to spend a study or research period at the University of Pavia.
