The Government School of Espírito Santo (Portuguese: Universidade Government do Espírito Santo, UFES) is a federal university recognized at the town of Vitória, investment of Espírito Santo condition, in South America. It is regarded as the 32nd best university in South America and the best university of its condition as well. It was founded on May 5, 1954 through a legislative bill proposed by Governor Jones dos Santos Neves, Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) is the largest higher education institution in the state. His federalization occurred on January 30, 1961, during the government of Juscelino Kubitschek. Currently, it is present in the capital Victoria in Alegre and São Mateus.
