The Universidad Pública de Navarra is a public university created in 1987 by the government of the Spanish autonomous region of Navarre. The main campus is located in Pamplona, at the outskirts of the city, near the CA Osasunas El Sadar Stadium, and a new campus was opened in Tudela, a city in southern Navarre, for the 2008-09 academic year. The Health Sciences building (Spanish: Ciencias de la Salud) was placed off-campus near the two biggest hospitals of the city. Currently there are about 10,000 students taking fifteen different careers, the most popular of which are business administration and several different engineering degrees. There are also many foreign students taking part of Erasmus programme, ISEP, Virrey Palafox, or other exchange programs. The Universidad Pública de Navarra consists of faculties and schools like Faculty of Economic Science and Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Technical School for Agricultural Engineering, Technical School for Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications and The School of Health Sciences. The Universidad Pública de Navarra has excellent and top class faculties for all of the above mentioned schools, colleges and institutes and encourages innovative research works for all of the above mentioned fields worldwide. Mr. Alfonso Carlosena García is the Rector of Universidad Pública de Navarra. Teaching and research at the Public University of Navarra is organized around four Faculties, Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Two Schools, School of Agricultural Engineers, Higher Technical School of Industrial and Telecommunication Engineers and twenty-two Departments. It also has specific infrastructures for research activity such as the Agrobiotechnology Institute and the Jerónimo de Ayanz R & D Center. Universidad Pública de Navarra offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 30 years old H.E. institution has a selective admission policy based on students past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.
