Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences founded in 1972 is a health science university run by the U.S. federal government located in USA. The mission of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences is to train, educate and prepare uniformed services health professionals, officers and leaders to directly support the Military Health System, the National Security and National Defense Strategies of the United States and the readiness of our Armed Forces. Universitys research program covers clinical and other related topics in both the military and public health. Infectious diseases, trauma medicine, health maintenance, and cancer are areas of particular strength. The F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine is the place to learn the art and science of military medicine (Jay P. Sanford – founding Dean of the medical school in 1975), different Centers and Institutes, which help advance the universitys research, education and public service missions. The USU Brigade Commander is recognized as the senior active duty military officer of the University. USU also offers the Doctor of Public Health.
