history of our Centre are often copied back to the foundation of the “Chinese Linguistics analysis Centre” in 1966, that was one amongst the earliest analysis centers established by the University. Since its foundation, the Centre has emphasised each ancient and fashionable aspects of Chinese linguistics, combined theory with apply, and has unceasingly contributed to the study of the Chinese language. education and the raising of the standards of language teaching in Hong Kong. Bearing in mind the mission of the University, which is “To combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West”, we are keen to conduct comparative research involving Chinese, and take pride in creating an active research platform whereby various thoughts can be brought together within a comparative perspective to develop a promising direction that will enhance our understanding of Chinese. It is hoped that the Centre can serve as an international hub for comparative studies of Chinese, fostering innovative ideas and initiatives.
