Trent University was born out of true vision, made reality by the people and community who believed in its potential. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it’s critical to reflect on how and why we got here.
Without the local community’s generosity, Trent wouldn’t exist – period – let alone be the institution we are today. Some powerful examples:
1957: a letter from the president of Quaker Oats sparked community support for a college to be built in Peterborough
1962: our stunning Symons Campus is the result of General Electric’s gift of 100 acres of land
