TOBB University of
Economics and Technology is a private, not-for-profit foundation university in Turkey. It is a young university, established in 2003. The university’s motto, “A university that reverses the
brain drain”, reflects its aim to train talented Turkish youth for careers in technical and
business fields. TOBB University of
Economics and Technology is located in Ankara, the capital of Turkey since 1923. Ankara is slightly smaller than the arguably more well-known Turkish city of Istanbul, but there are still almost two dozen universities located in and around the capital. The huge student population feeds a buzzing cultural scene. There are six faculties at the university. The Faculty of Engineering includes departments of biomedical, computer, electrical and electronics, industrial, mechanical and
materials science and
nanotechnology engineering.
The Faculty of
Economics and
Business Science encompasses the departments of
business administration, economics, international entrepreneurship, international relations and political science. Students of the Faculty of Science and Literature can study English or Turkish language and literature, history, mathematics or psychology. Industrial design, visual communication design, interior and environmental design, architecture, and art and design are covered by the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Law and
Medicine have their own faculties. There is also a separate Department of Foreign Languages.
TOBB accommodating more than 4500 students, student staff ratio was 17.6 and 1% students from other countries.
