Szent Istvan University was established in 1787. It is located in Budapest, Godollo, Hungary. The Rector of the university is Dr. Janos Tozser. The headquarters and main campus located in Central Hungarian town of Godollo, It is an Agricultural and veterinary university in Hungary. The president of the university is Dr. Laszlo Solti. The SZIU is named after Hungarian King Stephen I. Szent Istvan University wins award for International higher education marketing given by Tempus public foundation. Szent Istvan University has just recently been awarded the International Cooperation Culture Award by Tempus Public Foundation, the National Agency of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). From combination of several universities Szent Istvan University was established in 1 January 2000. Szent Istvan University is one of the Hungary’s most prominent institutions of higher education. The university campuses are located throughout Hungary. It offers wide variety of subjects ranging from natural and environmental sciences, food engineering, horticulture, landscape architecture, mechanical engineering to business economics, social sciences, architecture and health sciences. The main campus of Szent Istvan University was located in Central Hungarian town of Godollo and other campuses are located in Bekescsaba, Budapest, Gyula, Jaszbereny, and Szarvas. The University consists of seven different colleges for study and research like • Faculty of Applied Arts and Pedagogy • Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences • Faculty of Economics, Agriculture, and Health Studies • Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering • Faculty of Veterinary Science • YBL Miklos Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering Szent Istvan University enrols approximately 16,000 students. The academic staff of the university is 1,313. The university has more than 150 partners on almost every continent. Research activity of the Szent Istvan University (SZIU) has long term traditions. It received a qualification of excellent university in 2010 as recognition of its scientific activity. University believes that scientific cooperation within the university and with other higher educational institutions, academic and research institutes are very important. It collects new, innovative ideas from the research teams and evaluates them for potential utilization, facilitating market access for the promising ideas and providing legal and economic advice.
