Sri Sri University has been established under the Sri Sri University Act, 2009 No15024-I-Legis.-33/08/L, notified in Odisha Gazette No. 1899 on 28 December 2009. The University has MOUs with National and International Universities like Siglo University, Myongji University for academic and student-faculty exchange. It also Conducts Global Leadership Series featuring globally relevant leaders like Mr. M.S.Rangaraj, Former Cabinet Minister and Mr. Satya Narayan Bansal, CEO, Barclays
Wealth Management India. On 22 February 2012 Sri Sri University was notified by the Higher
Education Department of the Government of Odisha as a legal entity after clearing a High Power Committee (HPC) scrutiny of its infrastructure, academic, regulatory, financial and manpower preparedness. The notification has featured in an extraordinary issue of Government of Odisha Gazette with Dr K C Mishra as the founder Vice Chancellor of the University.
The campus of Sri Sri University is spread across 187 acres. Overlooking the Kathjodi River, it is located at Bidyadharpur near Cuttack in Odisha, and will cater to 10,000 students and around 2,000 teaching and support staff. The university has started a unique vocational program in collaboration with L&T under their Corporate Social Responsibility commitments. All students of this vocational program are employed by L&T in their domestic and international projects. Sri Sri University has done commendable works in protecting the environment with plantation of trees over a barren land of 185 acres by collective efforts of Students & Staffs and is creating a good Education-model with engaging students in cause for the society. The Sri Sri University campus is a multi-cultural campus, with students from more than 20 Indian states and five countries.
As part of the Capstone Project students take up a real life corporate problem and try to solve it with a corporate mentor. 2 students from the batch of 2012-14 participated in the World Youth Leadership Forum organized by the World Forum for Ethics in Business(WFEB) in the European Parliament. The batch of 2013-15 was invited to attend the Corporate Culture and Spirituality Conference at the Art of Living International Centre 3 students from the MBA batch of 2013-15 completed their summer internships with the WFEB’s organizing committee on the 1st World Summit on Ethics in Sports held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich.
