Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University

Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University was founded in 1975 to enlarge the scope of higher education in Morocco and particularly in the Imperial city of Fez; the first capital of Morocco. Fez was built in 808 AD and since then considered the spiritual city of the Kingdom. Fez becomes famous because of Al Quaraouiyine University; its oldest institution. Indeed, Al Quaraouiyine University is the oldest university in the world. It dates from 859 AD when a woman–Fatema Fihria- endowed a part of her fortune to set up a university.
