Established in 1956 and Upgraded in 1991, renamed in 1997. The University has an undergraduate day program, an undergraduate night program, along with master’s and doctoral programs. To meet the needs of people who are already working but wish to continue their education, the University offers continuing
education programs leading to bachelor, master’s, and doctoral degrees, along with a special undergraduate program for graduates of three-year vocational colleges.
Shih Hsin University has made its name as Taiwan’s top
journalism and communications institution. After more than half a century, the university is now home to the country’s most prestigious
journalism and communications program, including the following institutes and departments: Department of Journalism, Department of Communications Management, Department of Graphic Communications and Digital Publishing, Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Department of Information and Communications, Department of Speech Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Film, Department of Digital Multimedia Arts.
Since its establishment in 1997, the College of
Management has equipped students with the training they need, including a macroscopic
business perspective, to become dedicated administrators in all fields of work. The college boasts 93 full-time instructors, 95% of which are Ph.D holders. The caliber of the faculty, together with a new building in 2006, has ensured the program’s excellence.
Founded in 1997, the College of
Humanities and Social Sciences is home to the Graduate Institute of Social Transformation Studies, the Graduate for Institute of Gender Studies, the Department of Social Psychology, which offers a graduate program, and the Department of Chinese Literature, which offers graduate and PHD programs.
The Shih Hsin School of
Law and the Department of
Law were established in 1996. Nine years later, the Graduate Institute for Intellectual Property Rights was established. The school includes a library containing 182,400 books, dictionaries,
law digests, and periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages.
