Saint Louis University is second-oldest Jesuit university founded in the year 1818 by Most Reverend Louis Guillaume Valentin Dubourg, SLU a private research university with campuses in St. Louis, Missouri, and Madrid, Spain. The university is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. SLUs athletic teams compete in NCAAs Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference. It has a current enrollment of 13,505 students, including 8,687 undergraduate students and 4,818 graduate students, representing all 50 states and more than 70 foreign countries.[1] Its average class size is 23.8 and the student-faculty ratio is 12:1. Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., is the 33rd president of Saint Louis University.SLU offers undergraduate majors, Graduate and profesional degrees and Adult
education majors and Programs. SLU ranked No. 4 on Washington Monthlys list of universities that participate in the most community service. Overall, the University was listed 138th out of 277 colleges making a "contribution to the public good. According to a 2012 survey of first-year students and seniors attending 554 four-year colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, SLU students reported feeling more engaged than their counterparts at other major research institutions around the country, especially in the areas of community service and collaboration with other students.
