Penang Medical College was established in the year 1996 in Penang, Malaysia as a product of partnership between Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and University College Dublin. Some of the community events and awareness programmes organized by Penang Medical College are: flood survival techniques, breast
cancer awareness campaign and
mental health workshop. The main areas of academic research of Penang Medical College are:
Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology,
Medicine and Public Health. The university also offers a Summer Student Research Programme to encourage students to actively take part in research and experimental activities.
