The National Museum Institute of the History of Art, Conservation and Museology was shaped and enlisted on January 27, 1989 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and was agreed the status of Regarded to be University on April 28, 1989. Since its initiation, the Institute has been one of the main focuses in the nation for preparing and research in the field of workmanship and social legacy. This institute Provides different courses of study, preparing and research in various branches of History of workmanship, Museology, Conservation, and so on. Working together with other national establishments managing social property, similar to the National Museum, Archeological Survey of India, Anthropological Survey of India, National Gallery of Modern Art, National Archives of India and so forth, keeping in mind the end goal to share the material, curatorial/specialized ability and offices; Interacting on a proceeding with premise at the national level to enhance gauges of educating in the above fields.Providing scholarly direction and administration. Distributing such works of the Institute as may have contributed significantly to the fields of specialization. The Institute awards eight merit scholarships to its M.A. students (six merit scholarships and two merit-cum-means scholarships). The aim is to reward deserving candidates in their education regardless of their social and economical status and to provide financial assistance to those in need.To provide its postgraduate students a comprehensive understanding of their research interests NMI provides paid internships to its students. The students can work in any museum or institution in the country, which caters towards the completion of their research papers and dissertation.
