Montana State University is one of only 108 institutions - out of 4,600 - designated as "very high research activity" by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of teaching. This gives the MSU among the top 2% institutions nationwide in research which translates into significant opportunities for research, scholarship and creative work. MSU offers more than 125 academic programs in humanities, art, natural science and social sciences. The University runs a many number of academic programs with lots of academic support and student life. Research and discoveries are as part of MSUs $100 million average annual research enterprise.
