The Ministry of
Health and Medical
Education (MOHME) has official obligation regarding
health and medical
education within the Iranian government. The MOHME contains five divisions headed by deputy ministers, Research and Technology, Education, Logistics, Food and Drug and Health.
Irans
health system is highly centralized; all decisions with respect to general objectives, policies are made at the central level by MOHME. The Ministry has power to supervise, permit and control the exercises of the private
health sector. An extravagant arrangement of
health system provides
Primary Health Care (PHC) to the majority of the Iranian public. MOHME of Irans having the big
health care delivery network of
health establishments and medical schools. MOHME is responsible for procurement of
health care services through its system, medical insurance, medical education, supervision and regulation of the
healthcare system in the nation, policymaking, production and distribution of pharmaceuticals, and innovative work.
