Medical Toxicology Centre It was founded in 2008 as an establishment of the medical toxicology centre which follows a joint initiative between the health protection agency and Newcastle University in 2006. The primary objective is to develop an international center of expertise in toxicology to fill the national capability gap and undertake a program of specificresearch with direct relation to human toxicology. The aims of MTC are:
• biomarkers of exposure and health effects
• genetic susceptibility and variability
• chronic and delayed health effects
• clinical research
