KTO Karatay University, Konya province Karatay is a private university established in the district. It was the second university in Konya when it was opened. In addition, the university is the continuation of Karatay Madrasah. The groundbreaking ceremony for Karatay University, organized by the Konya Chamber of Commerce
Education and
Health Foundation, was held on November 12, 2008.
KTO Karatay University, which is the first foundation higher
education institution which was built by the Seljuks in the name of the Higher
Education Institution in 1251, was founded in 1882 by the Educational and
Health Foundation of Konya Chamber of Commerce, which is one of the most well- Established in the year.
It started with the foresight that a single university was not enough for training and meeting the qualified human power needed by the Konya industry and
trade world. For industry and
trade world; has been established to educate graduates who are qualified and have learned theoretical knowledge and have succeeded in practicing. The foundations of the
business world, the marketplace where faculty members views were taken, were identified in foundation works. Nearly 20.000 members of the Konya Chamber of Commerce have been instrumental in establishing a brand-name university in Konya without sacrificing their support from the establishment stage. Following the feasibility studies and examining the sample university models, KTO Karatay University started to grow its vision.
Within the framework of the determined vision, social development contribution is achieved by creating original, creative and usable knowledge through sector-oriented training programs that provide a modern
education system, innovative structure in life, practical education, at least two languages, qualified, market- KTO Karatay University is aiming to provide
education to the public by establishing the public legal entity with the Article 1 of the
Law No. 5913 and the Article 113 added to the
Law on Organization of Higher
Education Institutions No. 2547 published in the Official Gazette dated 07/07/2009 and number 27281, Became the first foundation university.
Founded in 2009 by Konya Chamber of Commerce
Education and
Health Foundation, our university has an area of 90,133 square meters; 37.365 m2 closed and 12.455 open, total 49.820 square meters of area is operating.
KTO Karatay University started
education with 3 faculties in 2010 and now has 6 faculties, 1 college, 1 vocational college, 3 institutes as of today. In the academic year of 2015-2016, approximately 4000 students including 138 associate degree, 3384 undergraduate.

The Rectorate of the University is situated next to the Karatay Madrasah from which the university takes its name. Our campus is located between Mevlana Culture Center and the house of
Justice in Konya.
In addition to those, the conference hall of Konya Chamber of Commerce having a capacity of 350 people and Konya Fair Square with all their facilities is available for the university to use any time. In this respect, university seems to be very effective.
