Introduction: Keele University was founded in 1949 as the university college of North Staffordshire and later received its charter as University of Keele in 1962. The university promises to meet the demands of a new kind of society, economy and world. The university is nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of UK which was formerly owned by Sneyd family. Professor Trevor McMillan became the Vice-Chancellor of the university in 2015. It’s a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. The students come to the university from over 120 different countries. The university has partnerships with over 70 different universities overseas. The university also has single student exchange programs internationally to over 40 different universities. Keele University is ranked in the top 2% of the most International universities in the world. The university ranks 1st in the student satisfaction surveys because it is green and lovely and it is a place of research and academic excellence too.

Campuses and Affiliation: The academic school within the university is organised within 3 different faculties namely, humanities and social sciences, medicine and health sciences and natural sciences. Faculty of humanities and social sciences contains school of politics, international relations and philosophy, social science and public policy, management school and humanities. Faculty of medicine and health sciences contain schools of nursing & midwifery, pharmacy, health and rehabilitation and medicine. Faculty of natural sciences consists of school of life sciences, computing and mathematics, chemical and physical sciences, geography, geology and environment and psychology. At Keele University, the students come from around 120 different countries. The university has partnerships with 70 different universities overseas. Examples for key strategic partners include Stony Brook University, university sains Malaysia, Tongji University, Guangzhou University, Sao Paulo research foundation.

Statistics: The students get the opportunity to go on an exchange program to one of the 40 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Australia. 9% of the academic and administrative staff is from outside the UK. The university has around 100,000 alumni living in over 100 countries.

Research and Development: Keele University is performing research on one of the society’s most urgent problems, including ageing, global health and renewable energy. 97% of the research conducted at the university is deemed to be world leading, or of international reference. Some of the top research going on in the centres at the university consists of research on Ageing, Tracking Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain, Tissue Engineering, Wind Energy Solution, and Finding Extra Solar Planets. The research institute work closely with the central research support team for grants and other supports.
