Judson college is that the fifth-oldest women's college within the USA, having been supported by members of Siloam Baptist Church in 1838 in Marion, Alabama. A number of the people most instrumental within the foundation of Judson College were: Julia Tarrant Barron, General Edwin D. King, and Milo P. Jewett and Francis Christian Lowry. Judson was named once Ann Hasseltine Judson, the primary feminine foreign missionary from the USA. to Burma (now Myanmar). It's been connected with the Alabama Baptist Convention throughout its
history and is presently still heavily funded by the convention.
