About the University: The history of the Institute is closely linked to the path and work of the man who gives the name to this universe, Jean Piaget. An evolution marked by adaptation, by the natural interest in the dynamics and change of things and by their study. A story that is defined in a transformation by stages to be better and better. Founded in 1979 as a non-profit cooperative, then called "Cooperative Parallel Child Development, SCRL", it takes its current name: Piaget Institute - Cooperative for Human Development, Integral and Ecological, CRL, years later, fruit of a course where several pedagogical and social projects have been developed and implemented. The Piaget Institutes main objectives are to provide quality education, create knowledge and disseminate fundamental human values to an indispensable personal and intellectual formation of all its agents - teachers, students, workers and co-operators. Nuclisol Association for Child Development, Integration and Solidarity: Nuclisols history goes back to 1983, when it began its activity, but only after nine years in 1992, it adopts its current designation of Nuclisol Jean Piaget - Association for the Development of the Child, Integration and Solidarity, becoming an independent entity Of the Piaget Institute. 1. Litoalentejo:
Litoalentejo is a catering company created in 2003 by the Piaget Institute and Nuclisol Jean Piaget, and began its activity at the Hotel Vila Park, an associate project of the Institute and hotel application of the degree in Hotel Management and Tourism. APDES uses a matrix of RESEARCH-ACTION focused, on the one hand, on understanding and critical reflection on social reality and, on the other, on intervention in the processes of change. • Privilege PARTICIPATORY METHODOLOGIES, recognizing, involving and taking responsibility for the different social actors in the conduct of development processes. • It adopts a PROXIMITY INTERVENTION, implied with the populations and with the territories and acting in the own contexts of life. 3.
