Piaget Institutes was founded in 1979 as a non-profit cooperative, then called "Cooperativa para el Desarrollo del Niño, SCRL", it takes its current name: Instituto Piaget - Cooperativa para la Desarrollo Humana, Integral y Ecologico, CRL, years later, fruit Of a course where several pedagogical and social projects have been developed and implemented. The Piaget Institutes main objectives are to provide quality education, create knowledge and disseminate fundamental human values for an indispensable personal and intellectual formation of all its agents - teachers, students, workers and cooperators.
The areas of intervention of the Piaget Institute were consolidated over almost 30 years of constant work. Today they are visible through their Higher
Education Schools, Higher Schools of Health, University Institutes and Piaget Editions in Portugal, as well as Jean Piaget Universities in Africa.
