Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis is a part of University of North Georgia. The institute is built on the firm foundation in Geographical Information Science (GIS). The institute makes the students better understanding of the subjects related to Remote Sensing and Information Technology so that they can work easily in the public as well as private sector. It has four distinct educational tracks which are Environmental Science, Environmental Science with Engineering Emphasis, Environmental Studies and Information Technology so that the students can choose any one of their interest. They conduct research on the latest reports by using various technologies. An example of this is that they recently conducted research on how can satellite and remote sensing can be useful to find the missing airliner.
