Institute for Defence studies & Analyses is an Indian thin tank that conducts study and research on the problems that are related to national security and defence. The mission of the institute is to promote national as well as international security by sharing of knowledge related to defence and security issues. It is funded by Indian Ministry of Defence but it works independently. This institute also trains civilian and military officers of the Government of India. It is governed by Executive Council that comprises of renowned personalities from various fields. It has strong international relations. The institute also holds international conferences and various workshops and also publishes monthly
journals Strategic Digest, and Strategic Analysis.
