The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), IIT Hyderabad is an engineering and research institution located in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 and began functioning on 18 August 2008 from temporary campus at Ordnance Factory Medak, Eddumailaram with the first batch of 111 B.Tech. students. The foundation stone of IIT Hyderabad was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Honble Chairperson of UPA on February, 27, 2009. IITH is the top seventh premiere institute among the all the technical institutions of India in 2016 according to the MHRD rankings and presently ongoing with 868 B.Tech. students, 436 M.Tech. students,32 M.Des students,8 M.Phil students, 109 M.Sc students and 612 Ph.D. students. IITH has a great vision, agility, commitment and energy to create an innovative education and research environment for all. IITH offers Undergraduate B.Tech and M. Tech. degrees in eight disciplines of Engineering, Research and Postgraduate degrees in all disciplines of Engineering, Sciences and Arts cordially with 142 faculty belonging to science, engineering, design and arts departments of the Institute. IITH is collaborated with Japan Collaboration Advisory Committee, with an intimated working group of India and Japan. The academic collaboration was led by Japanese scholars to provide special lectures to enhance knowledge network among India and Japan. The IITH has been allocated projects from industrial and government funding agencies to promote the innovative research in different fields of Science and Engineering. The research in IITH is supported by many research groups such as CPS, INNDMR, etc.
