Introduction: Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT Bhubaneswar or IIT BBS) is an engineering institution set up by the legislature of India in 2008, situated at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) built up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under The Institutes of Technology Act, 2011 which sets up the eight new IITs and in addition proclaims IT-BHU as Indian Institute of Technology. The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.It began working from the grounds of IIT Kharagpur on 23 July 2008 and moved its operation to the city of Bhubaneswar on 22 July 2009. Campus and location: The Government of Odisha has allotted around 936 sections of land of Government land for perpetual grounds of the organization. Moreover, the State Government is procuring around 16 sections of land of private land at its own particular cost. The Foundation Stone of the permanent campus at Arugul, on the edges of Bhubaneswar was laid on 12 February 2009. Development of 4-lane access road from the National Highway 5 and arrangement of water and electric supply to the grounds by the State Government have gained extensive ground. The Government of Odisha has additionally consented to give 75 sections of land of land along the Puri-Konark coastline to set up an Innovation Center for Climate Change. Courses offered:  Undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Integrated M. Tech Programs: Mechanical Engineering with Mechanical System Design or Thermal Science And Engineering and Civil Engineering with Transportation Engineering or Structural Engineering.
