Hamad Bin Khalifa University is a public university located within Education City in Doha, the capital city of Qatar. Founded in 2010, the university is a member of the Qatar Foundation, and began graduating students in 2014. It was named after Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Emir of Qatar (1995-2013). HBKU has 5 colleges offering 17 degree programs, 3 national research institutes, executive education center and HBKU Press. It is not accredited. HBKU Press, is the university publishing house, and offers educational books for schools, academic books for universities and researchers, and information and reference titles that can be accessed online. HBKU currently has over 625 students from over 57 nationalities. 40% of the students are Qatari.
